The Danish American Club in Orange County

We are a tax-exempt, non-profit organization founded in 1967. Our purpose is to initiate, sponsor and promote actions that will stimulate and widen relations between people of Danish nationality, descent or origin and the people of the United States through diversified cultural, social and recreational activities. There is no political activity, as the club is non-political in nature.

We have a membership of over 120 people. We meet approximately 10 times a year at various places. Our social events provide us an opportunity to share in our Danish customs and traditions. They are comprised mainly of dinner, a few skåls, and some singing.

Annually, we help organize and sponsor Danish cultural events such as Fastelavn for Children and the Five-A-Side Soccer Tournament. Our major fund-raising event is our participation in the City of Orange International Street Fair. We have been participating in this fair since 1973. More than 300,000 people attend the fair, and over 20 countries are represented. The profit from our booths is donated to both Danish and American charities.
